Studio Policies

  • We kindly ask everyone to register for all classes in advance. You can do this on our website or via the Wellness Living Achieve App. We may not allow walk-ins during busy hours, and have a very firm late policy.

Registrations will ONLY be held until 3 minutes before class begins, then spots will be given to students on the Waitlist. Please arrive early to secure your spot, as space is limited in the studio!

  • Arrive at least 10 minutes early to class. We let people off the waitlist 2-3 minutes before class starts, and if the class is full, we won’t be able to welcome you in.

We have a 5 minute grace period for our unheated classes, and this is only if there are still spots open in the studio.

Heated classes start on time, and we don’t have the capacity to allow latecomers down there, so please plan accordingly!

  • We have 4 spots on our wait lists! Our system will automatically slot you into class up to 10 hours before class starts if a spot becomes available then. We recommend checking the Wellness Living app (or your email if you have email notifications turned on - and you should turn them on!) to see if you’ve been moved into class. Especially for morning classes, check the app before you go to bed! And if you know you’ll be unable to make it for class, please take yourself off the waiting list at least 12 hours before class starts.

To be clear: please do not add yourself to the waitlist unless you know and are planning to be able to come to class. Operate as if you’re signing up for class, and going to attend!

We also recommend that you come in for class if you’re #1 or #2 on the waitlist in the event that a spot becomes available right before class. We release the waitlist 3 minutes before classes start, so if you’re there, you may be able to slide into class if everyone hasn’t shown up yet!

  • We understand that sometimes schedules change and you’re unable to make it to class. If you can’t attend, kindly cancel your booking on our website or the Wellness Living Achieve App at least 12 hours before class. We know this is a big timeframe, and it’s there to help you and your fellow Arise students plan as best as possible. If you cancel class after the 12 hour window, you’ll be marked as a ‘late cancel’ and we won’t return the class to your account. Your account will also incur a $5.

If you don’t cancel class beforehand, but also don’t show up for class, you’ll see a $5 ‘no show’ fee on your account.

To clarify: your account will be charged $5 if you either ‘late cancel’ or ‘no show’ for a class.

Keep in mind that if you forget to cancel class, you can always email us before class begins and we’ll take care of it for you (and waive any fees)! We’re trying to prevent folks from cancelling right before class starts - this helps teachers prepare, and gives other students a chance to take any open spots.

Try as best as you can to plan ahead and communicate if you won’t be there so we can add people off the waitlist and open up spots!

Workshops are nonrefundable. They can be transferred to another student, however they cannot be transferred to another workshop or class type.

  • Please make sure to allot enough time to fully enjoy the end of class and the transition out of the studio. We don’t allow anyone to leave early from classes unless it is a clear emergency. This is to ensure a beautiful experience for you, and to keep you and your fellow students safe.

  • Please wash your hands often and keep yourself healthy. Do not come to class if you’re feeling unwell, or getting over an illness. Remember: yoga is not a remedy for the common cold, and we want to protect each other as much as possible through flu season (which seems like every season at this point).

  • • For any virtual classes, please check your email for the correct Zoom link, and start it from there!

    • We do understand (and celebrate!) that you may need to leave a bit early due to work meetings and other obligations. It’s so wonderful that you’re still able to get your practice in! We ask that you give your instructor a heads up before class, or right as you’re leaving, by placing a private note in the chat.

    • You’re on mute for class, but we do ask that you turn on your videos if possible. We know and embrace that your pets, other humans, and your space all might be visible throughout class - rest assured that this does NOT distract your teacher! We’d prefer to be able to teach to your experience, and seeing you practice (even 2 dimensionally) helps that tremendously.

    • Feel free to UNmute yourself at the beginning and end of class to say hello and enjoy the interaction with other students and your teacher.

    • If your instructor has any tech glitches, practice patience. If you can’t hear or see them for longer than 5 minutes, please unmute yourself and let them know!

  • The practice space is a phone, smart watch, and pager-free area. Please leave your devices in the front lobby (we always have a front desk member there and have the doors locked during class). Be sure to turn them OFF, and enjoy the one time of day when no one can reach you.

If you absolutely need to have your device closer by for medical reasons, please let the teacher know. No other exceptions will be made, and if we see your device near your mat, we will kindly ask you to move it.

FAQs

  • We recommend that you bring the following:

    • Yoga Mat

    • Towel

    • Water

    • Open Mind

We recommend that you leave behind:

    • Valuables

    • Phone, Smart Watch

    • Negative Energy

  • We don’t have a rental mat system, and while we do have a couple of loaner mats for out-of-towners, we ask that you not rely on those being available. Invest in a great mat for your practice! We have a few options for sale at the studio.

  • We offer the following discounts at the studio:

    • School Teachers: 15% off all class packs and memberships

Please email us with a photo of your school ID to take advantage of these!

We also offer sliding scale community classes. Please check our schedule to take advantage, and to meet even more members of our community!

  • All of our monthly memberships require a 3 month commitment when you first join. After that point, your membership continues to renew each month, and you now have the option to pause your membership for up to 30 days (you can do this twice a year), or cancel. If you’re unable to commit to the initial 3 month requirement, or you’d rather take it one month at a time, we recommend you choose the single month unlimited pass.

To simply put your membership on pause (and keep taking advantage of the price point you’re locked in at):

    • Email brooklyn@arise.yoga and let us know how long you’d like to pause your membership. We allow up to 2 pauses per year, for up to 30 days each time. Pausing allows you to travel, explore, take a break, move away and decide to move back - and maintain the rate you’re currently paying when you return.

    • Keep in mind that you will be charged a prorated amount for any remaining days left in your current billing cycle (on the front or back end of your pause, or sometimes both!). You don’t need to schedule your pause to align with your auto-renew date because of this.

If you ultimately need to cancel your membership (sad!), here’s what we ask:

    • Email brooklyn@arise.yoga at least 2 weeks before your next scheduled payment date. If you request to cancel after this time, we cannot guarantee that you won’t be charged for your next month of yoga (yes, our inbox really is that full!). We can always refund a payment that you didn’t intend to go through, but we won’t be able to prevent it ahead of time. Once your membership has been cancelled, we’ll email you a confirmation. Know, of course, that you can always come back at any time, and that the price of a membership may have changed by that time.

Workshops are nonrefundable. They can be transferred to another student, however they cannot be transferred to another workshop or class type.

“Arise Yoga just changed my life and added to my love for Brooklyn and its community. Yoga Classes at Arise Yoga are diverse and available all day long even Sundays! Great teachers, and the place is cute and clean. I love it!”
