Deepen Your Practice with Props with Jessica Boots

Blocks, blankets, straps...have you ever grabbed some blocks, but aren’t really confident if you know when or how to best use them? Are there some poses that feel hard to access? Props are incredible tools to help each individual body find its own unique version of the pose. For example, the length of our arms, torsos, legs can make poses look so different body to body. When used correctly, props can facilitate or extend a pose, and we can experience greater ease, alignment, balance, depth, support or relaxation.

In “Deepen Your Practice with Props”, we’ll explore opportunities to use props to find appropriate skeletal alignment and muscle engagement, versions of poses that match your particular body, and facilitate deeper relaxation in more restorative poses. We will play and experiment, with plenty of space to ask questions, and then put it all together in a full length flow. Sometimes the props make the pose feel “easier”, and sometimes it supports creating the tension needed in a posture to allow for growth.

This workshop is designed for beginners or more experienced practitioners, so all are welcome! Bring your sense of curiosity and questions and leave with some new strategies for deepening your practice with props!
