Acupuncture + Collective Healing
Join Dr. Dawn, licensed acupuncturist, and Amani Will, transformative somatic counselor in this 3 hour ritual workshop exploring the purpose, power and needs of anger.
We combine the practices of Parts Work, Expressive Therapeutic Movement, and Acupuncture to transmute our scared rage as a community. By the end we will have cultivated a healthier, more balanced relationship with anger, ourselves and the world.
About Parts Work
Parts Work is a therapeutic approach based on the idea that our personality is made up of different "parts" or sub-personalities, each with their own feelings, roles, and perspectives. Parts Work helps us recognize, understand, and compassionately relate to these inner parts, so we can heal internal conflicts and integrate them into a more harmonious, whole self.
About Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the practice of inserting thin, sterile, single use needles into strategic points on the skin. Acupuncture promotes circulation, brings the nervous system out of fight for fight, disrupts the pain cycle and can help with the regulation of many internal processes.
The first hour of the workshop will consist of a Parts Work discussion which will be including journaling and partner share. In the second hour, we will have a group circle where participants can express their anger through using their voice and moving their bodies. Concluding, in the third hour, we will learn about Anger through the Chinese Medicine lens, how it relates to the season of Spring and what is the virtue that it brings to our lives. There will be an acupuncture treatment at the end to help to integrate the experience with Dr. Dawn playing sound bowls to help transmute the energy brought up.
