Traditional cultures all over the world look to nature's cycles as guides for how to live.
On the Spring Equinox, we celebrate the return of the sun after the long, dark winter months.
This moment of equal daylight and night asks us to pause and reflect on how we're cultivating balance in our life. With nature supporting rapid growth and flourishing as days lengthen and the air warms, we have the space to channel our energy toward intentions that are ready to bloom—and leave those that need more time to germinate for another season.
Our 108 Sun Salutations ritual will be an opportunity to move stagnant prana and align our energetic intentions with the flow of nature. In the Vedic tradition (and many other cultures), the number 108 signifies wholeness, and is a sacred number for performing mantras, prayers, and other ceremonies. Our asana sequence will feature several variations of surya namaskar such that we can gradually build heat and not burn ourselves out (already!). Some familiarity with yoga is recommended, and rest and modifications are highly encourage to support your individual practice.
